Duration: 2 days onsite or 3 half days online.
DWDM today is the key technology for all high-capacity data transmission networks. Data rates in the range of Terabits are only possible with this technology. Carrier and Provider continuously need to upgrade, to adapt, to optimize their network. Lifecycles of network elements and fundamental new concepts forcing engineers to reconsider the network structure. Mobile networks on one and datacenter on the other hand are pushing the limit of transport capacity into each part of the network.
100Gigabit via one optical channel became standard in greenfield networks, aside with legacy 80 channel systems. Often using still 10Gbps per channel.
200 and 400 Gbps running deployed in a flex grid environment amplified by PSD based regenerators. The terminals are using OTN/OTH for multiplexing and demultiplexing.
Requirements
Basic knowledge of transmission networks is a prerequisite for this course
what will you get?
This introduction provides an overview of concepts and parameters you need to understand before visiting vendor specific training courses since system related training courses take these basics as prerequisite.
Motivation for DWDM technique
Bandwidths, costs, scalability, increase in efficiency
Simplification of the network architecture, reliability (data center interconnect)
